Kitsap Fresh is a food hub and producer-owned cooperative providing an online marketplace where local farmers and producers sell and customers access source-identified products on the Kitsap Peninsula.
In addition, Kitsap Fresh exists to support and develop new farmers, including non-traditional farmers.
Kitsap Fresh was started by a small group of farmers and local food advocates in 2015. Each of the initial Board members wrote a personal check for $35 to start the cooperative, after meeting every week for several months to organize and plan.
With just 2 initial drop sites (one at each end of the County), Kitsap Fresh started from the humblest of beginnings. After 6 years, our cooperative now has an expanded warehouse, 7 distribution sites across the county, a new home delivery program, and we were able to provide over $400,000 in member producer payments last year.
